When it comes to fishing in surf or heavy swell, you need a plug with shoulders!
The tide minnow surf casts well and gives you an exagerated rolling action - swimming naturally around 50cm under the surface where plugs like feed shallows etc get bullied and don't work at all. With a little effort you can crank this down deeper to around 80cm, which is more than you need during spring/ summer sessions.
Wherever you are fishing over swell or into surf, it's well keeping a couple of these plugs on you.
